Event Description:
Parents and caregivers, join us for a heart-opening, informative, and supportive online event hosted by Off Da Beaten Path Learning LLC! The second-most voted selection within the original poll was on the topic of "Mental and Emotional Health.”
This 60-minute gathering will discuss definitions, and various types of effects on the teenager, including: physical, academic, and behavioral effects. The second half of the event will provide time for group interaction.
The message of this event is that we face our challenges head-on. In doing so, we empower ourselves. We show respect by way of compassion. Not sympathy, but deep understanding. This event is about acknowledging the challenging realities in depth out of respect. This while holding that mental health recovery is not easy or pleasant, it is world-opening and, though often difficult for the teen or the parent to see, but completely feasible. You got this.
I will share not only what I’ve learned through 15 years of experience as an educator, a graduate degree focused on inclusion, and multiple trainings related to mental health, I will also share the story of my adolescence, diagnosis, special education programming, and the power my making the choice to drop out.
Special Perks for Attendees:
